Active Mailbox is the User Provisioning workflow built into the CMT for Exchange database, it is used within the user provisioning stage of an email migration.
It allows you to easily map a Notes account onto an Active Directory user. Each project can easily use different logic to map a Notes account to Active Directory account.
It allows easy allocation of users to Exchange databases based on database utilization. The active directory user is then mail enabled, which can be in a single domain or resource domain.
Any mail contacts (created by Transporter or CMT CoExistence) are removed and the associated email addresses and distribution lists are moved onto the new mail enabled account.
You can migrate one user at a time or a group of users. The application reports back any provisioning errors encountered with comprehensive error reporting, this allows a migration consultant to understand the status of mailboxes.
The solution does not require the migration project to export the data to Excel manually edit it and then re-import it.
Feature Summary
| CMT integration |
The application is built into CMT for Exchange user interface and extends the CMT for Exchange workflows so user provisioning is fully automated. |
| Allocates users to Exchange Databases |
Extracts the Exchange database lists with user statistics and automatically allocates each user to a mailbox. |
| Enable Mailbox |
Converts a standard Active Directory authentication object into a Exchange Mailbox or converts a active directory object in a resource domain to a mailbox. |
| Manages Mail Contacts |
Locates Mail Contacts, extracts distribution lists and extended mail addresses and moves them to new Exchange Mailbox, Mail Contact is then deleted. |
| Transporter Integration |
If Exchange 2007 Transporter is installed, Mail Contacts are managed so that Transporter directory synchronisation is not disrupted. |
| Manages Active Directory resource domains. |
If your Exchange environment uses resource (or linked) domains, active directory base objects can be created automatically. With an environment where the base AD objects are created by an external Identity Management system, AD objects are moved to Disabled state so they can be mail enabled. |
